BN-Link Smart Plugs

I have a maybe a stupid question about these smart plugs…I have them installed in my gameroom to turn my pinball machines on and off via the BN-Link app. Install went fine. I have a surge protector plugged into each smart plug. About 3 machines are plugged into the surge protector. In my app, the on and off are backwards. So when I click the “on” button in the app, it turns the machines off and vice versa. Is this because I’m using a surge protector in between the smart plug and the machines?

There may be a buried setting in the plug app you are missing. Some can reverse the software on/off visual.

If you can't get it sorted out and switch brands the TP link plugs have worked really well for me.
