There has to be an under the table agreement that he will be HC in short order, or this move makes absolutely no sense.

He doesn't want to be a HC. The bottom line is with NIL and the landscape of college football. It's all about the money, and as bad as we don't want to admit it. ND is a much bigger brand. They are national brand, we are reginal. Things better change or we are in trouble.

LSU was rated by the Wall Street Journal and a number of other publications as a top 5 College Program in terms of value.

This is a pretty good article from Medium.com that combines a bunch of different metrics and values LSU as the 6th most valuable program, with ND 4th.

Regardless, LSU is absolutely a National brand, and easily one of the most valuable.

In the "what have you done for me lately" age, LSU gives both its players and coaches a platform to showcase their abilities.

If they hold up their end of the bargain, the sky is the limit, and this Denbrock hire is proof of that. He gets to go home, with a really nice payday.

If LSU promotes Sloan, we will have that continuity that Kelly values, while retaining the real star of this offensive staff.

Sloan is younger, has playcalling experience, and without some kind of promotion would likely have been poached by someone to run their offense. He also coaches QB, is a far more active recruiter, and is the next great offensive mind in college football. I could not be any higher on Sloan.

Denbrock was extremely successful this season, and will always be thankful for his work here during his tenure.

It may come off as opium, but this will turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
