Correct except you should never TELL them ur paying cash.. . negotiate everything , then at the last second tell them youve decided to pay cash , or just pay off the vehicle after the first month- but make sure you eliminate any ‘early payoff penalty’ BS from the contract before you sign it .. these deviant , miscreant car dealers LIVE for financing these days, there’s a guy on YT who lays it all out excellently but i can tremember his name to post it.. probbaly several people though you can search .

My daughter had a car picked out. Reviewed the price with the dealer. I called to tell them I was coming with a check (guess they thought she'd be financing) and they backed out on the deal. Said that price was only for financing. I'll never do business there.
