This. This is similar to SCOTUS and FedGov getting involved with Civil Rights and voting to ensure that minorities aren’t prevented from voting due to discriminatory laws designed to target them.

Dem leftists are just taking a page from their Jim Crow tactics of the past or perhaps Daniel Ortega's successful Presidential campaigns in Nicaragua where he arrests opposing candidates to keep them off of the ballot. Seems that are trying to do both.

Disenfranchising voters would be a federal issue I believe.
