I thought Brock Matherne's name sounded familiar. Was a good player at Belle Chasse. He was a Sophomore when they beat Shaw for their only State Championship in 2008.
Played for Bob Becnel who was a really good coach.
Still wonder about the fit though. The locals are very loyal to Darnell Lee, even if the Gonzales Mafia turned against him. Wouldn't be surprised to see EA kids try to go to Prairieville.
Darnell had the toughest schedule in the State the past two years. In 22, it worked for them by beating WM, but this year, their only significant win was vs De La Salle.
We shall see.

if they give him even remotely a chance, they will absolutely love him. Great guy and a great coach.

He’s one of the good ones who never got the attention and recognition he deserved.
