Let's play the "what if" game.

What if when Saban was in talks with the Miami Dolphins, LSU would have said: "Look Nick, we can't match Miami, but we can come pretty dang close. We'll pay you 4.5 million, plus bonuses, and you get to be the Athletic Director as of today. You get to pick all the head coaches for LSU and you have serious input on the future of LSU Athletics" Do you think he would have stayed, and said "F" the NFL.

The Miami Dolphins job was his dream job. I don't think we could have persuaded him to leave. It didn't work out, so he went to Bama. Get used to it, as I think he'll be there for a long time.

Can anyone of you just answer the question w/o saying something negative about him. At the time all of you "LOVED" Nick Saban. Don't deny it. Think about it. If LSU would have "not" taken no for an answer, what would it have taken?

I got tired of the saban interviewing with every team and school in the world game.

don't miss it at all. there was no bigger saban fan than i while he was here and at the dolphins. However, listening to his fill in the blank hollow word tracks has made me lose all respect for the man. Combine that with what he did to the shula's, ben wilkerson, and to l.s.u.

example) announcing on the day of the sugar bowl, trying to hire our coaches, introduced at bama vs l.s.u. basketball, and the infamous miles is winning with the players i recruited statement.

Nah, his ego is too big. He wanted to test the NFL waters as a head coach.

I loved Saban too while he was here, but jesus its been 4 years. I'm over it. He was a good coach but I dont think LSU needed to name him athletic czar. Saban as AD??!!

And I too got tired of the feeling that he would inevitably leave for a bigger job.

Last, I was actually tired of his offenses and how flat the team would often play. It seemed to me that the players did not have a lot of fun out there, and often played tight. Until this year, the players always seemed to play with a lot of enthusiasm under Miles.
