Thon Maker was pretty shady and he bolted after four games

As interesting as that situation was, Thon actually sat out his 8th grade year because he was ineligible. Country Day didn't get him a fake air bnb to live in and "pay bills." That's a long story, but his guardian was selling him to the highest bidder the summer before he left. Pretty fricked up situation.

Another thing Country Day doesn't do is tell kids that have been there for years to leave because their spot has been filled. Randy did that to multiple guys this year, including a 6'9 surefire D1 prospect who's now at a prep school. This is also a kid with deep New Orleans ties and family money. Just stupid on Randy's part.

Apparently Newman fired someone earlier in the year who was keeping receipts. If Randy knew what was best for him and Newman, he'd ride this suspension out and not complain one bit. If this "lawsuit" actually makes it's way into litigation, he and Newman are beyond fricked. The LHSAA will depose one witness and get everything they need to punish them, even if they violated his due process the first time around.

ETA: posts above me are correct. The fall guy did not appreciate being the fall guy and he was objectively the wrong guy to make the fall guy. When I said he was keeping receipts, I meant literal receipts

Yeah a lot of the LHSAA membership probably has no love lost for Newman even more than John Curtis or any Catholic League school

See your point, but flip side, why wouldn’t the kid expect that to happen? He came to Newman as a freshman after being recruited through Randy’s AAU team. He came from Slidell but conveniently didn’t sit out a year bc he magically had a New Orleans address. As a freshman he pushed out kids who had been there through middle school so why would he be surprised when Randy found someone better and pushed him aside. What did he expect?
