I don’t think you’re fully appreciating how much of a turn off this is for 99% of people who may want to dip their toes into the sport.

And I think you overestimate it. I would argue most fans who get interested in soccer aren’t aware of this until they actually attend a match (or start watching regularly on tv), and even then this segment of fans flying these is most prevalent in places like Portland and Seattle. The casual fan who attends an MLS game is probably only bothered if the flag obstructs their view. Honestly if you see a few gay flags and think everyone in the crowd is a radical you’re probably too retarded to appreciate soccer anyway.

It’s not over estimated at all

Most these people don’t even really understand soccer at a macro level but these far left people see this as a community to bond together. When a set of fans dominate the messaging coming out of the terraces, that tends to become the identity of the club. Left or right leaning. There won’t be any right leaning supporters groups in mls bc they will get labeled racist and shite.

The more and more the average soccer fans educates themselves on the game globally as a whole they probably will distance themselves from the MLS crowd. Like I said before a lot of these hardcore left leaning fans don’t know shite outside of MLS. It’s also not just Portland and Seattle, it’s infected most stadiums.

It is a big deal. Look how it’s completely took over US national team supporters groups the last 10 years. AO and Sam’s army were no where this left leaning or political back then.

It is funny though when they hate on European soccer but try and intimidate it in the stands. So much to the point these idiots are rocking scarves in the middle of the summer
