I'll never understand it either. I don't care how much people pretend to enjoy it straight it always tastes awful

When i drank regularly, I loved it with just a little ice. Adding cokes or mixers makes it too sweet and syrupy.

Just like anything with alcohol, it's going to taste wildly different in different conditions. Are you drinking it a room temperature? Try chilled or on ice.
Some I wouldn't drink with a mixer, but I do love a crown and coke, sometimes life's simple pleasures are the best.
