I think the analogy is spot-on! We're not just bad on defense, we're horrendous!
We're No. 1 in the nation on 3rd down conversion percentage - stats show that almost 60% of the time teams are converting 3rd downs into 1st downs!
We're currently 109th out of 130 teams in overall defense!
I think that qualifies as very porous!
It wasn't too long ago that our defense was so stout that LSU fans would bow to them as they stopped another 3rd down.
Nowadays, opposing fans are bowing to our defense on third downs because they know they're going to get a first down!
