What split the Roman from the other Patriarchates primarily was the doctrine on the procession of the Holy Spirit (Filioque) and the Pope's claim to universal jurisdiction.

The Dormition of Mary, the Theotokos, is also celebrated by the Orthodox as well.

The modern Roman Catholic practice and liturgies are VERY different then the unchanging Orthodox Church.

Exactly. The "in Church" experiences are different. My understanding is that the Orthodox churches in different parts of the world may have different liturgies, i.e. "in-church experiences".
