That's according to Mike Pence. According to Trump he only asked him to send the votes back for a re-count.

But here's the thing: If you doubt for a blistering hot second that Trump would hesitate to nullify procedures, constitutional checks and balances, elections, or anything else he had to side-step to advance an agenda if he thought he could, then you are a simp.

Trump is authoritarian by personality. His actions are restrained by the system, so you could say he's not so authoritarian that he is willing to try to overthrow the entire system, but if you think he's personally more oriented toward cooperation and winning people over to his viewpoint rather than dictating his orders, I don't know what to tell you.

Now, does that mean he's "dangerous" and a "threat to democracy?"

Of course not.

Clinton was just as bad. Obama was just as bad. They did seem to have more impulse control in the matter and therefore more ability to mask their tendencies, but sure, they were just as bad.

The point is that what Ryan said was correct.
