I would recommend somewhere that doesn't have the tentacles of the West, United States, wrapped around it. Someone mentioned Georgia but Georgia is being influenced by the CIA and Western intelligence just as Ukraine has been over the last 20 years.
I would also look for somewhere with a decent healthcare system. First world medicine is important; or at least close to it. Keep in mind our system is also heading to shite as well but it's going to take sometime in the future for it to get there.
There is one country that's surprisingly not too bad but I don't want to mention the name here.
Portugal, Spain, Hungary and Czech Republic are not too bad. All of those nations have a fairly large ex pat communities.
