I'm 5 or 6, sitting in the den in our house in Birmingham listening to LSU play Rice on our old console stereo. Dad had to search every Sat. night for WWL....we'd then sit in front of that sucker and listen.

Once a year we'd make the journey to BR to watch a game. Biggest deal in my life was driving to BR to watch games....thought BR was the greatest place on earth then.

I was born in New Orleans and I am definitely a Heinz 57. Mom is from MS and a big Ole Miss fan and Dad is from Chicago, big Notre Dame fan, but was converted to a Tulane fan when he started school there. We had a cousin who played at Ole Miss in the 60s, but at that time we were die hard Tulane fans.

I moved to BR in the late 70s but didn't go to a game until around '84. I know it was an Ole Miss game, but I can't remember the coaches/players, etc.. I remember the atmosphere! It was awesome and I was 90% hooked.

Here's what sealed it:
My younger brother was playing at a MS JUCO in the mid 80s. We thought it would be wonderful if he could play at LSU - Son of a gun, they were recruiting him. Those Arnsparger years were fun fun fun! I've been hooked 150% since then.
