I've always been a tacoma driver, but was towing more than my 18 tacoma could handle regualy and also welcomed a little more cab room. I sold my 180k mile tacoma at the height of the used car craziness for 1k less than I had bought it for new. Drove a beater for a year, than bought a 2016 f150 with thr 3.5 ecoboost. I have been blown away with the power and MPG numbers I've been getting. I have changed a starter and water pump on it myself, I'm hoping that's it for a while. The 2016 still has the 6speed tyranny.
Even if the diesel is getting 30mpgs, that is not enough to offset the additional $1.00 a gallon diesel runs over 87 gas, before you even get into the DEF fluid things.

I was going to say this exactly. Plus the several thousand dollars extra when you purchase it.
