Saban was 15-17 in two years with a franchise that was 4-12 the year before he started and 1-15 the year after he left. What do you expect?

Does anyone believe Saban made the wrong choice in going back to the college game and becoming one of the most significant coaches of all time? There are plenty of coaches who won a Super Bowl (even multiple Super Bowls) and will not be as revered historically as Saban.

Besides, NFL success is mostly about the QB and getting a great one has a lot to do with luck. You are usually either in position to draft a great one (Elway, Manning) or you find a diamond in the rough (Brady, Warner). You don’t necessarily have a lot of control over that.
