What Laimbeer did was not part of the game, and were not considered good or hard playoff fouls. Sure there were some sprinkled in there, but overall, what he was doing was the start of Detroits bad boys image
How many suspensions did Laimbeer get in his career ? Laimbeer had a nearly 700 game playing streak ended because of a legit fight. But there was no such thing as a "flagrant foul" until later in Laimbeer's career. It was a rule implemented due to the Pistons , but he mostly played within the existing rules .I'll stand by it. Laimbeer did nothing like what Green is doing with chest stomps, nut kicks, sucker punches, karate chops, choking opponents from behind, etc.....

Laimbeer & most other NBA enforcers played at the limits of the NBA rules , but careful not to cross them.

Players not getting suspended for fights was a common practice in the 80's NBA. Hell Larry Bird and Laimbeer both played after fighting in G3 of the 87 ECF. Hell I don't believe Robert Parish wasn't even ejected for beating the shite out of Laimbeer 2 games later.

No Ejections

Ejections w/ no suspensions
