While it may not be a conscious choice, there is no evidence whatsoever to back that it is biologically linked. People simply try to force connections to help them understand the phenomena, but there is nothing there.

In reality, it likely has a lot more to do with mental than biological factors, and we are seeing a case study of it right before our eyes with the Transgender phenomena.

Someone that is dealing with a mental or emotional issue they cannot understand simply trying to find a reason for it will grasp onto anything to feel whole. For some, it means they are gay. For others, “I’ve always felt I was different and now I know why!” transgender.

That does not mean that things like hormone imbalance don’t affect these things at all, but it is not the cause. There is no data to back that up.

Saying something has happened in other cultures throughout history also doesn’t in any way support it being biological. If anything, it more strongly supports it being psychological coping. Hell, perhaps in the ancient Greek and Roman cultures, it was a result of boredom or simply seeing women as lesser and only there for procreation.

In any event, someone being “extremely gay” to a stereotype doesn’t in any way support it being biologically driven.
