MLB needs to put in a cap because there’s only like one other team that could have even come close to competing with that. Why the hell would an all star player go to a small market when an LA or New York team can just pay them with the same amount as the entire roster of a small market team

Other than a BS 2020 season that doesn’t count, when’s the last time a team from NY or LA won a World Series?
It’s been 15 years since one of these markets has won the World Series regardless of the massive amount of money they spend.
I think we’re past the point of whining about all the big money players on one or two squads. They still have to win it on the field and it’s clear that buying a WS isn’t as easy as fans make it out to be.
ETA: I completely misread your post. I’m gonna keep this here anyway because frick the Dodgers and their fake WS win.
