quote:no you don’t - He saying His mother is blessed because she listened to God
I take it right from Jesus.
quote:no one has said that - that is your misinterpretation, and to downplay Mary, the mother of God, who is called blessed in scripture, who was handpicked by God to be His Son’s mother leads me to believe you interpret scripture to your benefit - pride leaves God out
She's not in any way, shape, or form on any equal standing with Lord the Father, or Jesus the Savior.

That's not what he's saying. He flat out shut that woman down when she began exalting Mary as some type of extra-special being.
Again, if Mary had any exalted privilege, one that went above and beyond that of being chosen to bear our Saviour, Jesus would have made it known and abundantly clear during his ministry.
There would have been numerous references to her "immaculate" condition, as well as encouraging people to appeal to her in matters of supplication.
The veneration, glorification, praying to, etc. regarding Mary is not in in way scriptural. Jesus never did it, nor did he direct people to do it.
