An elementary school teacher?

First grade teacher. She is at school working from 7:30am until 5pm and then grades papers, etc for about 2 hours a night. So my math was wrong, only 57.5 hours per week. She also has to do 30-40 hrs of training seminars per year and various other BS the state (Texas) requires. Most people don't realize all the extra training/continuing education they are required to complete every year.

This was my daughter's (no pics) exact experience. She got to school at 6:45, got home around 5 and then spent a couple of hours at home grading, lesson plans, etc. They also barely have enough time to eat their lunch and have meetings during their planning time. So much state and district BS. When I was a kid, nobody was telling my teachers how to teach. They had the book and they decided what worked for them and their class. Teachers are all different and have different styles. Kids are all different. They are no longer treated like professionals who can make decent decisions in their class. NCLB ended that.
