I've been on Beeper for awhile now but yesterday they did something quite impressive - my main number is now being routed through iMessage using "Beeper Mini".

Introducing Beeper Mini
Today, we’re excited to announce Beeper Mini. It’s our beautiful new Android app built specifically to send and receive iMessages on Android.
Beeper Mini has four major new features:
Send and receive iMessages to your phone number, not only an email address.
Beautiful new design, blazing fast speed.
Full end-to-end encryption.
Standalone Android app - no desktop/laptop required.
Available to download right now on Google Play
LINK
Beeper Mini is free to try for 7 days. After that, it’s $1.99 per month.
If you are a happy Beeper user who has been enjoying it for free, now is the time to support us! Please buy a subscription to Beeper Mini and help us fund future development, or share it with your Android friends.

How Beeper Mini works
Product roadmap
Quick FAQ
Does this affect my current Beeper app? No. Beeper will continue working the same as it always have, and remain free to use. Beeper Mini works great alongside Beeper Cloud (previously known as Beeper)! You can use Beeper Mini to register your Android phone number, then continue to use Beeper as your primary chat app.
Why is it called Beeper Mini? Because it only supports one chat network (for now, read our product roadmap to see our plans for adding other networks).
Gah, I don’t use iMessage. What a waste!! First, not a question. Second, a lot of people do. It’s our #1 most used network. Third, Beeper Mini is a brand new app, built from scratch to be fast and beautiful (addressing the top 2 pieces of feedback we receive about our first Android app). Trying to make it support all 15 networks at once would have been much harder and taken too long. Better to start with one, then add more networks in over time.

-------------------------------------------
So now my Pixel 8 Pro, my normal number is on the iMessage protocol when I message iPhone users and I use Beeper to communicate with other iPhone users on my Window's computer, and of course as always I can communicate in a browser with anyone else.
All the while I get the amazing call screening service that comes baked into my Pixel 8, Magic Eraser, best take, etc. still.
In the past you could do this using BlueBubbles (I have an old Mac Mini I set it up on) if you knew your way around programing, but with Beeper Mini the days of "blue bubble envy" should be all but gone. All you have to do is just sign up and Beeper does everything for you.
P.S: Unlike the "Nothing Phone" issue a few weeks ago, Beeper does end-to-end encryption as well.

I wonder how long it takes Apple to sue this company into oblivion.

Just set up the 7 day trial with beeper mini.. waiting for a response from my kid and Dad with iPhones.. guess we'll see if it's worth keeping for 1.99 month.. my dad and i just use Facebook Messenger for him sending me videos of deer or projects he's working on so it's not distorted in regular text.
