Did those rankings include the human polls?
Yes. 1/3 AP, 1/3 Coaches, 1/3 6 computer rankings.

What you are missing is why I argued this Committee like last year got locked on wrong assumptions via weighted measurements. They could not get their damned eyes off of the Head to Head which was so damned stupid, because both Texas and Bama had a better resume than Oregon who had 1 loss going into the weekend.
So, Bama's 3-1 vs. Texas 1-1 vs top 15 schools just gets overlooked. But the BCS only looked at the numbers, not the Head to Head, that was taken into account by the polls, and thus Texas would have been ahead of Bama by one spot in both polls because HUMANS see what they see, but the Computers would have taken the whole season into account and boosted Bama over Texas by way of a much tougher schedule I think their opponents overall was like 98-53 counting UGA. That a very high winning percentage. FSU was like 500 counting Louisville.
BUT.....That same computer would not have discounted FSU because of the injury, hence they would have gotten in over Texas, who I think is a better team, but with 1 loss the computers would pick FSU.
Meanwhile, this stupid committee couldn't get over the head to head issue, which to me is dumb, its THE SEASON, not a one game matchup.

Then they are shite. You have to eleminate the human polls
Posted on 12/3/23 at 6:38 pm to TTOWN RONMON
Massey Composite, which is a computer model aggregator, would not have been without controversy too.
Posted on 12/3/23 at 6:38 pm to DrinkPurplePissGold
How bad is Texas in the computers to be 3rd in the AP while Alabama is 5 and tied at 4 with Alabama in the coaches and end up 5th?

Then you get something like the Sagarin rankings which will not have FSU close to top 4.

FSU's SOS is shite.
They beat the best offense in the country in LSU, Clemson who has 2 recent natties, Miami who has an SEC win, and UF who plays in the SEC.

I can accept that if it's the accepted system. But what we have now is shite

BCS computer SOS rankings:
Sagarin: Bama #12, FSU #61
Anderson and Hester: Bama #23, FSU #63
Billingsley Report: Bama #1, FSU #44
Colley Matrix: Bama #7, FSU #69
Massey: Bama #2, FSU #64

So did Bama.

Clemson who has 2 recent natties,
What happened in 2016 and 2018 is irrelevant. Clemson went 8-4 and lost 23-0 to Duke.

Miami
4-5 record against P5 teams.

and UF
We suck, and we had our backup QB playing as well.

Now ask yourself this question, if the AP doesn't have an Agenda, why jump one Conference Champ (Texas) over FSU, who did not play FSU, but not jump the other Conference Champ who played an OVERALL tougher Schedule then Texas, over FSU also ? Answer that riddle, because it makes ZERO SENSE that AP voters were like, well Texas beat Bama, so we should move them over FSU, LOL. Because Bama and FSU also did not play but overall Bama's resume is better than Texas' resume, the head to head can not count when putting Texas over FSU but NOT Bama, because its FSU vs. those two teams, not FSU vs. any team they have played. If the AP moves Texas over FSU then logic says they also have to move Bama over FSU.

Not if you weight them like the BCS did, remember the VOTE counted more than the ranking, lets say team #4 got 75 more votes than #5 and 100 more than #6 that would be a greater number to overcome, but if all three were like within 10-15 votes, that would be almost like three number 4 teams and then the Computers would decide it.

I believe you, but the BCS would drop highest and lowest computer scores. Also adjusted for total points possible out of each poll, not just the raw position of #1, #2, etc.

FSU is the only team to have soundly beaten LSU.

You are BS then, because there is no way in hell a team with much tougher schedule is voted ahead of the other team.
What you probably did was not use the EXACT CRITERIA demanded by the BCS, they mandated specific rules, and thus if you are going by computers now without these same mandates, then you will not get the same results.
When a few computer geeks tell you this would be this, do not show you bad computer skills by tryin g to prove the geeks wrong, lol.
I get you, you are trying, but the fact is FSU is nit in because your offense sucks and you played a bad schedule, quit scheduling North Alabama when your whole conference is already dogs.

Some other nerd can do it on their own if they want but by those numbers the BCS would be
TEXAS
FLORIDA STATE
ALABAMA
TEXAS
FLORIDA STATE
ALABAMA

This is the definition of fake news. Texas is at .873, not Alabama.
Florida State is right at .871.
Alabama is at .866 or .863 depending on what Massey poll you use.
They flipped Texas and Alabama.
