Not a criteria.

It is actually the criteria…

quote:

Will the committee choose the four best ... or most deserving? "It is best," CFP executive director Bill Hancock said Tuesday. "Most deserving is not anything in the committee's lexicon. They are to rank the best teams in order, and that's what they do. Just keep that word in mind: best teams."

ESPN

That being said, that’s all talk. I wouldn’t be surprised if they say top 4 best teams and then pick fsu over Bama saying they’re simply better, although I disagree

No, these are the criteria.

quote:

There are five major factors that the College Football Playoff committee looks at when deciding the four teams to select for the playoff — strength of schedule, head-to-head results, results against top-25 opponents, results against common opponents, and conference championships.

So dumb.

Best 4 from what standpoint, talent or results?

Best 4 teams talent wise are Georgia, Bama, Ohio State and Michigan

But we’re already eliminating Ohio State and Georgia because of another “deserving” criteria, winning your Conference
