shepard, calhoun, jefferson, debose, randle, holiday, lafell, benton, toliver, scott, ford, pratt, keiland, murphy.
man oh man the possibilities next year are endless. Crowton will have a f'n feild day. You literally won't know who's gonna throw the ball never mind catching it. Debose, calhoun on screens out the backfield, shep lined up at reciver then qb, randle the same. Jefferson with randle, benton, tolliver, lafell, holliday. Scott, keiland, ford, murphy, pratt in the backfield (pratt may redshirt, don't see ford doing it)
THis could BY FAR be the most explosive offense EVER at lsu.
all crowton needs is the pieces. Of course some of this depends on whether or not we get randle. I think debose is pretty much a lock. When you think shepard think harvin. When you think debose think demps.
Now what were ya saying SloPro

quote:shepard, ford, randle, debose WILL NOT REDSHIRT which means that????? THey will PLAY. And since they will play I would take a handfull of the nations top players agaist everybody.
If you think we'll have an explosive offense and rely primarily on freshmen and sophomores (the way you have described it), then you are building castles in the sky.
I mean julo and aj green, peterson, ingram are having horific seasons. So did landry and vincent.
Yeah right i am building catsles buddy

No he won't. He'll probably continue to misuse talent.

Current LSU Depth chart not including this years
graduating seniors and incoming Freshman. Not sure who will declare early as well from this list.
Just thought it may be interesting to note that explosive offenses start by controlling the line of scrimmage.

I think our oline will be fine next year. MIles has recruited very well in that department.

Priams Pride, glad to see someone on this board has some common sense. The guy who started this tread is in never never land, thats for sure. When are these people going to wake up about freshman. Only in a blue moon does a J. Jones or a Pryor come around.

Is this Ground Hog day. I've been reading posts like this in every off season since the internet bulletin boards became available. Based on past performance, how many true freshmen has Miles depended on to change games?

well the past three years we had players that were not just uperclassmen, they were more talented. This year most of the seniors are part of the 20th ranked recruiting class that is curently hampering lsu. This year peterson, baker, hatcher, jefferson have all got playing time. Those that think benton will not at least play are complete idiots. Jefferson will be much improved next year. Those that think shep will get no playing time needs to get a lombotamy.
I could see randle and debose not getting that much playing time with lafell, benton, tolliver and the michells ahead of them.
Ford will get playing time.
why can't you see that this offense will be explosive????

Do you realize what you are arguing? I'll show you:
1) Our offense is not explosive (premise, empirical)
2) Our offense is upper-classmen heavy (premise, fact)
3) It is the seniors who are causing our offense not to be explosive (from 1 and 2)
4) Our offense will be explosive if we use more freshmen (from 4)
This is just a pathetic argument. A team is very lucky to have two true freshmen who contribute significantly, but you think we'll have 5 or 6? That's just crazy talk. If our offense is explosive, it will be because the QBs have improved over the off-season.

we said the same things about the guys who are currently on our roster. still not explosive

At the risk of sounding like a complete homer, the addition of Shepard in certain packages at the QB position gives LSU an extra dimension that no one in the SEC has ever had... the closest comparison is when Harvin takes a direct snap in the single wing.

quote:we have no shepard or debose on our roster or randle for that matter. I think the whole problem this year is jefferson only getting 5% of the snaps in practice as third string up untill hatch got hurt. He will be getting majority of the snaps in practice for the 3 weeks before the bowl game.

Trindon has been misused. But could you imagine shepard with trindon on the option???? frick!!!!
Posted on 12/7/08 at 11:43 am to Stagg8
Shepard will be the exception, not the rule. That much should be obvious.
Posted on 12/7/08 at 11:47 am to Stagg8
shep may make the difference, but only if he can play QB. and crowton has to learn how to use mobile QBs

shep? not relaly
debose? jared mitchell is a great athlete also and elusive as hell...when he can get open and hold onto the ball. toliver (from last year) is also explosive a shite. what about d byrd?
randle? what about tolliver?

yeah JJ is a talent. he needs to learn how to run, however
