They put an undefeated Notre Dame in multiple times, Cincinnati in, TCU in, etc knowing good and well those teams would get thrashed in the playoffs.

TCU is a prime example of why “the most deserving” team should not be in over a team with a great resume in a better conference

That’s why they learn their lesson. Texas and Alabama both deserve to be in way before Florida State, unless they turn it in on and beat Louisville by at least 10 points.
