Sorry for the long post, but just my .02:

year to year, the younger generation suicide numbers are down, until you get to middle age men (over 35).

In my opinion, it IS in large part due to mass media/social media homogenizing "main stream" culture, but also rejecting any traditional values/cultures (traditional/western gender roles and successful/trail blazing men being looked down upon) in order to manipulate people politically/socially. Finally mass/social media protecting truly toxic values/culture with demographic division (examples are the devaluing of life with abortion and glorification of murderers, polygamy/sexual deviance, and rioting to get your way). This is in order to further control the social/political landscape because perpetual problems always need solutions ($$/Power).

When we are told that our choices are between main stream or obviously unhealthy/toxic paths, many fall into a situation of being someone they are not. This is tolerable until men's superficial value in society declines (looks, strength and profit potential). Then men realize they didn't live their own productive life and feel it's too late to learn who they are and what they live for!

Young men need to be encouraged to seek inner meaning by trying/learning things that aren't just what's popular, and then being allowed to experience failure until they find that thing they refuse to fail at because it lights that fire of meaning. However, in order to do that it requires some form of social isolation to reject what's popular and seek your own path. Main stream will usually attack what doesn't follow the perception of popularity, but when you try things and overcome failure, it strengthens your resolve when you understand failures don't define you if they are in pursuit of something good and not harmful to yourself/character.

TLDR: Mass/social media is homogenizing people by threatening isolation and embarrassment if someone fails at something outside of the expectations of the main stream. When people finally grow up to realize they've wasted time not living THEIR life, they feel it's too late and too much time wasted.
