the Saturday is pretty legit..

me thinks these dates almost confirm the Foo for Jazz Fest, Arcade Fire wouldn't surprise me either

also, can't believe they booked that nobody one hit wonder Dinosaur Jr.

HTF did Noah Kahan go from getting force-fed into my wife's Caamp radio playlist on Spotify to headlining festivals in like a year? Crazy (and I don't dislike him, but it's just nuts how people blow up like that, now... from a TikTok video no less).

Come again?

Barlow and Mascis are alt-rock royalty.

I love Dinosaur Jr - saw them play You're Living All Over Me in 2017

Some troll posted they were a one-hit wonder on another thread

He sucks. He's the reason I can't get tickets to Highwater Fest this year. Young people seem to love him. Might have to switch to Shaky Knees especially Saturday.

If anything is good from it, you just know Win Butler is walking around the French Quarter right now moping after he saw Noah Kahan billed over AF

That is a great lineup. I like a lot of the smaller bands as well

But I was also shocked to see Noah as a headliner. It should be Arcade Fire. But I guess they aren’t going to pull as many as Noah. Is that really the case?!
Seems disrespectful to the established Bands.
But its just Business I guess.
He really should be on the 4th line.
Definitely not above Dinosaur Jr on any day!!

I'm sure Hangover will be better

(you all know this was sarcasm right?)

Yes
Unless you’re into Lil Nas and Yung Gravy
I actually liked a decent amount of the bands last year at Hangout
It’s not the same kind of Festival.

To each his own, the lineup usually gets annhiliated here - but if you went to Hangout and had a good time - no hate.

Like usual, I'm just waiting for Riot - unless they finally have a bad lineup... but they won't

Hangover/Hangout last year
Few good ones trickled in there
Even that Noah guy was there

The Riot Fest lineup this year will be hard to beat for any festival.

I just looked him for the first time on youtube, I know he's the musical guest on SNL so he was going to eventually enter my lexicon - I still have no idea what his appeal is - he sounds like Chris Thile singing about living next to a frat or something, I dunno - again, to each their own

Go look at the guys numbers on Spotify. Unreal. The Highwater Fest usually has tickets available weeks after announcing. They sold out in a couple of hours this year. Also sounds like he would be boring in concert but to each his own.

I'm curious how the label payola works on Spotify. We listen to a LOT of spotify radio at our house, and he started just getting crammed into every playlist over the last year or so. It was really clear that he was being promoted by the platform.

I mean he’s not terrible (Noah) I like a few of his songs but I only heard of him this year. Guess cause I’m not on Tik Tok

Stick Season - most popular song
Dial Drunk I like this one
I think this might be the one that got popular with the kids

The Song Exploder podcast on "Stick Season" is pretty good. It has a good story behind it, and he's actually a pretty interesting dude (who actually writes his own music).

But that damned, "I'll drink alcohol til my friends come home for Christmas" is like... the biggest frat party singalong line in existence currently.

That’s what I was bout to say
He writes and plays his own music
At least he got popular and a real musician. I can accept it
