It's hard to explain why LSU's defense played so poorly this year; Matt House made a pretty decent showing last year, and arguably games were won in 2022 thanks to strong defensive efforts. Also look at Kentucky back in 2018; under House's leadership the Cats were top ten nationally in total defense in crafting a 10-3 record

It’s honestly head scratching, given his resume. The talent wasn’t great, but it wasn’t 100th in the nation bad. A big part was scheme, but last year House did well at half time adjustments. This year he just stayed with getting torched the entire game. Like why the stubbornness all of a sudden?
