Because he completely checked out after the 2019 season when our archaic athletic council cost him a shot at a conference championship over the starting qb smoking weed. He was on a downward trajectory with realistically no chance of coming back up. He basically wasn’t even running the program when he was fired. Anyone who actually follows tech football knew it was time for skip to go. Time will be friendly to him at Tech. It’s worked out well for him, shitty for us, but we were going to be 3-9 the next year whether holtz was the coach or cumbies dumbass. We whiffed on a hire. That does not mean anyone who really follows the program wants skip back.
