I can see Oswald the dupe taking a couple of shots and hitting Kennedy once the back and then saying, "Holy shite!", when he sees Kennedy's head explode from a shot he didn't make.

That is a great point. If there was a second shooter, Oswald's reaction looking thru the scope of his rifle had to be the greatest double take of all time.
And what he thought when he saw it would be a top question for a "Who would you like to go back in time and interview?" scenario.
