Airbnbs are partly why the housing market is the way it is now. You wanna go live in a cute mountain town on a decent budget? Well, ya can’t bc folks own multiple homes in these cute mountain towns and Airbnb them, pricing out the locals. This is a MASSIVE problem that’s being addressed all over the west, including here in Montana.

With that said, if these Airbnb owners are using this as a tactic to keep people from moving out west it may seem to be working, but it ain’t. The ‘forcing’ of building new and affordable housing developments continue to threaten wildlife habitat, so what they’re hoping to “conserve” (population limits) is actually harming what brought them here in the first place (the wild).
