Yeah, I stopped eating deer meat 2 years ago for this reason. Troubled by the fact that is may not show up for many years...so it could be dormant in thousands of us now, and we just don't know it. Whether its from deer, hog, or joey's best friends, the Chinese.

Does if have to be something from the CNS that you eat, like the brain or bone marrow or can you get it from cooked deer backstrap?
I would think if you can get it from cooked deer meat there would be way more cases than 1 out 1 million.
