And because he gave it everything he had when he stepped on the field. He also would have been a much better QB under anyone else but Les Miles could have fricked up Tom Brady in his prime. Les was literally the QB killer. Best defensive player for every opponent we ever faced.

Miles had Russell, Flynn, and Mett.
They were all leaps and bounds above Etling. Etling might have been the best in the dumpster fire of Miles final years but Miles had excellent QB play for 4 season between those 3 guys.
