I never got the original steam deck though I thought it was super cool. Thinking about getting the 512gb ssd oled model since its only a little more than a ps5 and can play my whole steam library for the most part. Should I go with the ps5 or steam deck oled?

It really depends what you value.

If you value portability and utilizing steam and dont mind/prefer handhelds, then go with the Deck.

But if you are going to be mostly gaming in your house and prefer the controller experience from your couch, want to game at higher settings and resolution, and don't care about access to Steam, then go PS5.

Are you absolutely wanting something to take and play on the go?

its a pretty good piece of tech and i want the oled one myself but i dont think think it will be better experience for big triple A titles for long gaming sessions.

it was able to run mile morales (Spiderman 1 dlc) at 45 fps relatively easily. So it definitely gets the job done.

the steam library is HUGE compared to the PS library though and if that's more important to you then the deck may be the way to go.

id say if you want a bunch of access to a lot of different titles without much care for a large screen format at running at the best specs go with the deck. If running newer stuff with better specs on a large tv is more important, the ps5. Not really going wrong with either imho.

I had a Steam Deck and barely used it. Made me realize that I'm just not a mobile guy. I like playing stuff with a monitor or monster tv

Yea, I like to take stuff on the go. I am always having to go places, and I already have a steam account with a decent selection of games. Also playing it on the bus or going over to a friends house while he has a pc would be cool
