i just got out of my first one. having severe dizziness and headaches for the last 2 years and it keeps getting worse. catscan showed no brain tumors so to the traveling mri bus i went.
the tube was about as big around as a trash can, and i'm so bad claustrophobic that flying itself doesn't bother me: it's being crammed in a tube for hours with hundreds of people.
he told me it'd be 15 minutes on my brain scan, pull me out, 30 minutes on my inner ear scan, pull me out and inject me then go back in for 20 minutes for inner ear, pull me out then go back in for 15 more for another brain scan. i was strapped in with a helmet rig on, and people in line behind me- so my margin for pussing out was very thin.
it was awful. i liked-to-of lost my damn mind. he shot me up in there the first time and i almost passed out. had to stop in the middle of the first 30 minute inner ear scan because I finally dosed off, even though i was trying not to, because i knew if i came to i might flip out, and that's exactly what happened.
my claustrophobia goes way back to my childhood; if i have to go back i'm almost certain i'll have to be drugged up.
