This is such an interesting study to me. While I know this is about baseball, my kids also play flag football. Here in Nola there is rec flag, NFL league flag and FNA league flag. The NFL league has been around for years. Drew Brees started FNA about 8 year ago or so.

For many years, these have co-existed with decent participation. After this year, I think there will no longer be an NFL league due to lack of participation. There are just no kids playing. I asked a friend who's kid also plays in the FNA league how their participation was and he said their participation is down as well from years past.

Where are the kids? It blows my mind that just 3 years ago on both Friday nights and Sat mornings, these fields were filled with kids and now its bare. Rec flag has kids, but there is a clear distinction between the talent levels in the other leagues compared to rec.
