On another topic, is competition for the postseason in the West going to be lower this year?

Last season, the Rockets and Spurs were the only tanking teams for most of the season. Then, at the very end, the Mavs, Jazz, and Blazers tanked to get ping-pong balls.

This season, the West already looks like it has four bad teams: the Spurs, Grizzlies, Jazz, and Blazers. The Grizzlies will be better when Ja gets back, but I still don't expect them to be good. And I think that the other three are already committed to the tank.

So, to everyone arguing that "the West is going to be as tough as last season," I don't agree. I think that there are really only 11 teams fighting for the 10 postseason spots.

The East might actually be more competitive than the West this year.

Look at what you said though. 11 teams. Now go back in time a few years before the Playin and say 11 teams fighting for 8 spots and say the West isn’t that strong this year.

Don’t be surprised if the Grizzlies haven’t given up quite yet
