Biggest reason may be that to start a rebuild you have to admit that you were wrong and we’re not 1-2 players away from being a SB team. And to top it off, the front office put the team in such a shitty spot with these contracts that they really can’t start a rebuild because it’ll probably take a few years. Too many bad years, and heads start rolling; which now enters the part of the conversation where they’d need to stop putting their needs (keeping their cushy jobs) over the team.

exactly.

there will be "tough decisions" on players that they covet and may have misevaluated.

but at the same time, they aren't folding for shite. Because "their" way works.
