I was depressed for a long time after this shooting. Not because there are shades of terribleness in the murder of children. But because this particular slaughter hit so close to home.

Geographically. It’s my denomination. And my kids go to a Pres preschool.

It was such a “could have been us” moment that I wept uncontrollably for most of the day. And every time I see the pics of those kids I adopt the sorrow of their parents.

I watched the Crowder release live and just felt awful. Deep abiding sadness. I wanted to be angry at someone, but there was no one in particular at which to direct PURE hate and anger. I thought I would feel that way toward the shooter. It was there but mixed with sorrow for what made her that way. It was such an absolutely terrifying display of a complete absence of anything that makes us human.

An incoherent rage full of a self-loathing that could only be “learned” (programmed). But coupled with a methodically and meticulously planned and executed plan to take innocent life. The degradation of her own humanity imposed on other humans. But carried out by an otherwise competent mind.

I was honestly expecting her manifesto (such that it was) to contain some statement of hatred toward conservative “transphobic” Christians. Instead we got hatred toward privileged “f@ gg0t” “crackers,” and this from a self-identified LGBTQIIAP++ member, who was likely just as “white privileged” as her victims.

I guess my point is, the mental illness combined with (and part and parcel of) this girl’s programming by [insert list here] was far broader, and more incomprehensible and inscrutable than I’d expected. What specific forces (and manifestations thereof) combined to create this monster?

What “treatments” exacerbated her issues?

I think my hatred is best directed at the ones who’d exploit this tragedy by calling for more Second Amendment violations and anti-scientific and anti-human “solutions” to prevent these horrors.
