As an add: best way to play Mike Tyson’s Punch Out? Fixing to show these kids what real gaming was all about!
I used to be able to whip Tyson when I was a kid. Not too long ago, I fired this up on an emulator to see if I could still do it. Took me about 30 tries of getting my arse kicked before I finally got him.
NES emulators are very easy to run. Most can be loaded onto tablets, phones, PC/laptop, etc. If you don't mind doing the setup, you more than likely already have the devices around the house and can be playing within 20 minutes instead of buying an emulator device from a 3rd party.
Same goes for Atari, SNES, Genesis systems. N64 setup is just as easy but some games won't run well on certain devices. And there are extra steps involved once you get to the disc generations. But Atari - SNES/Genesis can all be set up easily on practically any device and the entire library plays easily.

I run alot of ps1/ps2 emulators on my gaming laptop and phone. Even on a cellphone ps2 games can run alright, depends on game and the hardware.
