I would not buy that particular reference new unless you can work a decent discount from the AD or if the AD experience is important enough to you to pay the premium. On the other hand, it's not a terribly expensive watch, and if a couple of grand doesn't matter and AD experience makes you feel better, then there's your answer. Otherwise, I would try to find it on the secondary market.

This is not a watch that is going to appreciate over time. I mean no one can predict the future, but that would be an entirely unlikely scenario. You'll lose a good bit as soon as you walk out of the AD.

That being said, I have a BB58 blue I bought from an AD several years ago, no discount, mostly because it was new, hot at the time, and both me and the watch were in the store at the same time. I totally understand the lure of immediate availability. The size and wearability of that watch is superb.
