Hilton downtown or the Horseshoe/Margaritaville in Bossier. Not a ton in the way of good hotels there but the chain hotels are decently represented.

The Remington Suite Hotel is fairly nice as well.

I try to stick to Marriott properties for points. I've stayed at the Residence Inn in Bossier near the casinos. I've stayed at the Homewood Suites in Bossier by I-20. They were both fine. I'm sure the Hilton mentioned is fine, but if you're looking for food, your choices are limited. Parking will be a pain at the casino hotels. In fact, I'd always choose somewhere I don't pay for parking if going for an event like you are. Anywhere on Youree Dr south near or south of 70th St will be fine and there will be lots of restaurant choices that are easy to find.

Whatever you do, stay away from places near the fairgrounds and Independence Stadium and stay away from the airport and Ochsner LSU Medical Center.
