I bombed my first drive in my first round there. Got to my ball and literally didn’t know where to hit my 2nd shot. Bunkers at layup distance, water and bunkers protecting the green as well as a distance that wouldn’t let me feel comfortable swinging at it. The greens are quick, but not as unfair as some days I’ve had at Calvert. Overall a great course and fun round as long as you accept some bad breaks.

Perfect description of my experience. I know the exactly what you’re talking about in #1. You bomb a drive, but when you look over the hill past the dogleg it’s like what in the hell do I do now?

There are no bail outs at Mystic. You have to be 100% committed to every shot or it will balloon your score.
