What are you saying? He has to run against Trump now because he didn’t want to run against him in 28?
On paper, the OP was 100% correct. In reality, Desantis isn’t a strong candidate and that was always going to hurt him. Aligning with the GOPe makes him a nonstarter in 28 too. And that would have happened.
Plus, his effeminate nature and weak disposition makes him an easy target for a strong opponent.
