So I definitely blame WW for how poorly Cook was evaluated in his first year at LSU. He should've been one of the first off the bench, and everyone knew it.

What is your winning percentage, at the college where you are HC?
Is it better than Wade, McMahon?

I mean't to say Smart, not Mays. Either way, the point still remains.

I understand prioritizing defense, but when you are producing that badly on the other end, it should never warrant playing time. Not to mention being 286th in points allowed, not sure he actually played the "great defense" you are referring to. Either way, not sure it mattered. I watched plenty of Gaines and although he made some great defensive plays, he was also wildly out of control and a massive liability for low shooting % and bad shot selection. Countless times I remember he was turning the ball over with charging calls.

I understand Manning played a different position. We could've easily slid Thomas to that spot and Smart as more of an off guard where he belonged anyways.

Not sure why someone has to be a college coach to understand basketball and player development, but since you are asking, I've worked with 1 current NBA player and 5 Division 1 college players. I'll leave it to you who most likely has zero basketball experience at any level to tell me if my opinion has merit.
