Georgia making “incursions “ into Georgia.
Why were international peacekeepers there?
Why are they still there?

Oh ...
well ...
... there is that little detail about past atrocities when, as you put it, "Georgia made incursions into Georgia."

---

What exactly is your objection to a people's right to self-determination?

• Georgia declared its independence from Russia. That's fine with you.
• Abkhazia and South Ossetia concomitantly declared their independence from Georgia. That's not fine with you?
Why?

Perhaps the more important question is, why would Abkhazia and South Ossetia desire independence from Georgia?

That answer, as it turns out, is that ethnic differences render them vulnerable to atrocities by Georgians. It may seem like a little thing to you, but some folks are actually put off when their daughters are raped in front of their families, or when all inhabitants of neighboring villages are murdered in mass executions.

Abkhaz and South Ossetians enjoyed considerable autonomy in the USSR. But when Georgia declared its independence, it simultaneously decried Abkhaz/Ossetian doing the same. That seems to be a skosh pharisaical. Does it not?

In taking these tortured positions, driven solely by Putin-is-the-Devil "rationale," you come across like the kind of CNN-ite who dons a "Save the Uyghurs" shirt as he laces his Nikes.
