Vallery left for Kilgore after the 94 football season. This was the first and most impactful domino to fall.

Richwood High opened in 96/97ish that took a good bit of talent. Sterlington High opened several years later.

I get that, but there’s no way even in say 2009-10ish time period a small private school like OCS should be able to beat them. They usually even play Ruston close. I would have thought 5 years ago OPHS vs OCS was criminal

Sterlington has been around way before that. This year Ouachita lost their starting QB to acl injury. They’ve been starting a freshmen for the last 5 or 6 weeks.

No… Richwood reopen in 01(had previously closed in 88)… Ouachita doesn’t get the kids from the Tanglewood, Pine Bayou, and south Burg Jones Lane areas anymore… which actually never made sense in the first place because Wossman no more than a 10 minute ride from all these areas… Neville is still zoned to get kids from the Robinson Place/ Trishshell area even though that’s the farthest south you can go in Monroe(Neville is in North Monroe)… Neville also is zoned to get kids right down the street from Carroll… Ouachita just doesn’t have the same pull to be able to cheat in the Parish
