I think if you have young children you should. There are plenty of small safes with fingerprint access that suffice. leaving a loaded gun accessible to a toddler is negligent if you've ever had a toddler in your home.

This was prob about 2 months ago, maybe 7 weeks ago. I go outside and this big arse armadillo is tearing up my yard. I run in, get my gun out of the safe, load it, and go back outside. The fricker was gone. Now the gun sits by the back door loaded but not chambered ready to go. I just haven't seen it again.

I dont have children.
