If the perpetrator ends up being the man currently plastered all over the news/social media, he was already banned from owning a firearm.

Laws that ban purchasing or owning something don’t prevent the behavior—to say nothing of the fact Maine is a huge hunting state, ranked high on the list of state gun ownership per capita.

Guns in Maine and/or anywhere else in the US aren’t going anywhere.
